Wedding Season has began

Over the past weekend Mike and I went to a Bridal Shower and a Stag for two of our good friends. For the Bridal shower I put together a little basket of goodies. First, I made 2 signs. One said, “always kiss me good night” on vintage barn board and the other was their wedding date with hearts in between the numbers. I chose to do the basket theme their wedding colors, light lavender and a pale grey. With that being said, I did the signs in the light lavender, that way the bride and groom can use the signs for their wedding photos/décor. Secondly, I added a little ceramic owl, a vintage Mason jar soap dispenser that I made. And, lastly I added a pretty purple flower, just to add to the basket theme. The bride and groom are also using the little wire basket that I picked up at Home Sense for their wedding cards. I also added little hearts with their names on it to make the gift more personalized. The bridal was ecstatic to say the least!

Before the stag, the bride and groom had a bbq with the wedding party. Everyone was making some type of salad so I decided to go with a desert. Mike and I made fruit skewers and they were a hit! Everyone enjoyed them. They’re super easy to make and you can always add some type of chocolate or yogurt dip!

I will be posting every wedding decor piece I make this year, as we have a few to attend to!

Enjoy your week!

Spring time finds

Hello!

Over the weekend I was able to go to a home show where I found the most amazing finds. I found some cute home decor items that were at such a great price that I had to pick them up! I found two vintage chairs that have been completely redone and painted a nice spring yellow and blue. These chairs had the bottoms cut out so that a flower planter could sit nicely into them. I picked up both of these chairs for $20 each! I then found a vintage looking mirror or frame that has also been redone and painted a pretty teal. This piece is very unique because where the mirror used to sit inside the frame is now a magnetic chalkboard. I picked this lovely piece up for only $40!

With my days off this week I had some time to look at a little house that I was interested in. The house sat right on Lake Simcoe and every window had a view of the lake, even the back of the house had a view! The house was tiny but it was so quaint and cozy that I fell in love. The house was completely redone so it was move in ready, which made me even more excited. However, while my restate agent was touring us around the cute little house she received a phone call from another agent that delivered us some bad news… Once our agent got off the phone she told us that the little house had sold while we were literally standing in it. Mike and myself were heart broken to say the least. And the worst
part of it is that I can’t stop thinking about this little house. I hope something comes up just as cute and with a similar view within the near future.

With some good news! I have finally opened up my Stone House Burgundy Door Etsy account! You can purchase majority of our mine home décor pieces on there. But as always you can email us for a sign request at stonehouseburgundydoor@gmail.com
